Toyo Tires retained in FTSE Russell's ESG Index

Toyo Tires remains in sustainable ESG Indexes.

Toyo Tire Holdings of Europe, (President, Kenta Kuribayashi), announces that shares in its parent, Toyo Tire Corporation, Japan, will continue to be included in the ESG index*1 “FTSE4Good Index Series,” “FTSE Blossom Japan Index,” and “FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index.” *2.

*1) A stock index comprised of companies that have been highly evaluated by an independent rating agency from an ESG perspective
*2) "FTSE4Good Index Series" and "FTSE Blossom Japan Index" Sector Relative Index” will continue to be selected from 2022. From now on, the evaluation period has been changed from June to December.

Sustainability is an important issue and investing is not only about profitability, but also about the social and environmental impact represented in the ESG Index.

About the  FTSE Index, FTSE4Good Index Series,  FTSE Blossom Japan Index and FTSE Blossom Sector Relative Index:

FTSE Russell's ratings cover areas such as corporate governance, health, safety, anti-corruption and climate change and are based on the FTSE4Good Index for Companies, FTSE Blossom Japan Index and FTSE Blossom Sector Relative Index, which require a range of ESG criteria to be met.

Index Overview
FTSE4Good index series Designed to assess and measure the performance of companies that are actively engaged in ESG. The index is used to create and evaluate sustainable investment funds and other financial products.
FTSE Blossom Japan Index An index that reflects the performance of Japanese companies that are proactively addressing ESG issues, and is designed to be industry neutral.      
FTSE Blossom Sector Relative Index

This index reflects the performance of Japanese companies that have relatively good ESG responses in each sector, and is designed to be sector neutral. In addition, in order to promote the transition to a low-carbon economy, only companies whose improvement efforts have been evaluated by the TPI*3  are included

*3) Transition Pathway Initiative. A global initiative led by asset owners to assess companies’ readiness for the transition to a low-carbon economy
